LT Technologies Forms Stable Water; New Organization to Provide Systems for Clean Drinking Water in Emergencies and Water Supply Disruptions

Efficient, Self-reliant Systems Designed for Rapid Deployment and Immediate Operations in Difficult Environments and Dense Population Centers

E. Bridgewater, MA, July 1, 2010 – LT Technologies, a leading manufacturer and designer of advanced water purification, filtration and chemical treatment systems, today announced that it has formed Stable Water, Stable Water, a separate entity that is focused exclusively on addressing the problem of sudden disruptions of clean drinking water supplies. Stable Water is building efficient and self-reliant systems that produce clean drinking water and can be rapidly deployed and immediately operational.

“As news headlines make very clear, sudden, unforeseen disruptions of supplies of clean drinking water are happening with increasing frequency as our water infrastructure ages,” said Tom Belmont, Jr. CEO of LT Technologies and a co-founder of Stable Water. “There is no doubt that long-term issues with our water supply infrastructures will have to be addressed with major new investments. But none of that will help people who get caught in a sudden disruption of their drinking water supply. We have the technology required to solve the short-term water emergencies, so that’s what we’ve decided to take on through the formation of Stable Water.  We’re building systems that will be like ‘water ambulances’ – quick to get to the scene, and quick to provide the clean drinking water that people need.”

Using manufacturing standards similar to those covering fire apparatus, Stable Water’s rugged systems – like “water ambulances” – are designed to operate in difficult environments and dense population centers.  The design of these emergency mobile drinking water plants include a hybrid-powered water purification system that is self contained, self-starting and utilizes different operational conditions as a means of cogeneration. More details on the company and its mission can be found at www.stablewater.org.

“With nearly two years of prototype development work already completed, Stable Water now has functioning design models, durability data and validation protocols,” said Mark Arbeene, LT Technologies’ VP of Business Development and a co-founder of Stable Water. In light of our aging water infrastructure, the increase in water emergencies, and the huge costs and inconveniences these episodes create, we know the time is now to get these technologies built, deployed and proven. That’s why we’re fast tracking our designs so we can complete production of our first working system this summer. Everything is proceeding on schedule at our new manufacturing facility in East Bridgewater, Mass.”

“While we have a great start on this important initiative, we can’t go it alone, added Arbeene. We need the right people with enough will and determination to join us to solve this urgent problem.  We are actively asking for input, support and introductions to keep our momentum going. We’re asking interested corporate staff, government representatives and individuals to contact us at LT Technologies/Stable Water to discuss how they could help in this project. By bringing more resources, talent and focus to this issue, we can make greater progress more quickly.”

LT Technologies Selected to Supply Water Purification and Environmental Systems for New Science Center at Georgetown University

Cost-effective and innovative products will help new facility to achieve environmental goals and improve operational efficiency.

BRIDGEWATER, MA, June 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- LT Technologies, a leading manufacturer and designer of advanced water purification, filtration and chemical treatment systems, today announced that it has been awarded a contract to supply systems for rain water reclamation and reuse, as well as an ultrapure water production for Georgetown University's new science center. The new Science Center, projected to be completed by 2011, will be a state-of-the art research and teaching center for biology, chemistry, and physics.

A key factor in the selection of LT Technologies was the company's expertise in sustainable water systems. One of the goals set by planners of the new facility was for it to be designed as a "green" building with the goal of obtaining a Silver LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in several key areas of human and environmental health, including water savings, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.

The LT Technology systems that will be deployed at the new facility are intended to help it achieve the stringent Silver LEED Certification level. The company will provide an innovative rain water harvesting system that will be fully automated and will create clean water for non-potable uses throughout the entire complex.

"Our rain water harvesting system saves an enormous amount of water from running down the storm drain systems, and instead, efficiently reclaims it and makes it available for an array of uses," said LT Technologies CEO Tom Belmont. "When we started developing our system, we were familiar with some of the older specifications out there. But we knew we could build a better, smaller and more affordable system. Now, with nearly two years of development work behind us, we can offer customers a very advanced yet cost-effective solution. We're very excited about the future prospects of this technology."

LT Technologies has also been awarded as part of the contract to manufacture a high-purity water system to be utilized in the building's laboratory environments. Added Belmont: "LT Technologies is excited to be affiliated with such a prestigious and forward-thinking institution, and we're proud to be providing, in some small way, the innovation and tools needed to advance Georgetown University's excellence in research and laboratory sciences.

Innovation and Cost-effectiveness Driving Increased Demand among Larger Clients Worldwide; New Facility Nearly Doubles Operational Capacity

E. BRIDGEWATER, MA, LT Technologies, a leading manufacturer and designer of advanced water purification, filtration and chemical treatment systems, today announced that it has opened a new facility that nearly doubles the company's operational capacity. LT Technologies needed the additional design and manufacturing space to meet rapidly growing demand for the company's advanced water purification and recycle technologies. In addition to opening the new facility, the company has created about a half-dozen new jobs in its system design, manufacturing and customer service divisions.

"We're very excited about our expansion for two reasons," said Tom Belmont, CEO of LT Technologies. "First, it gives us the operational capacity we need to successfully handle the large and complex water systems we're developing for our most demanding clients. That opens up tremendous new business opportunities for us. Secondly, it shows that we're bucking all the economic trends and growing a manufacturing company right here in Massachusetts. We're proof positive that if you focus on innovation and meeting customers' needs, you can succeed in manufacturing right here in Massachusetts."

The new facility, which is located at 612 Plymouth Street in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, has 5,000 square feet of design and manufacturing space, along with client meeting rooms. Work in the new facility is focused on prototyping and manufacturing the more advanced, higher-flow rate and customized systems LT Technologies provides to its international and domestic clients. The new facility became partially operational last fall as the Company gradually transitioned its manufacturing and engineering groups, as well as its sales and marketing teams, to the new location. LT Technologies' original location in West Bridgewater, which houses the Company's administrative function, will remain open for its expanding service business.

LT Technologies Awarded Turn-key Waste Water Compliance and Recycle System for Flexible Circuit Company.

Vulcan Flex Circuits is a progressive, industry-leading company located in New Hampshire. They are moving their entire operations to a new state of the art facility, also in New Hampshire  LT Technologies has been contracted to design and build a customized solution for their compliance and recycle of process waters.

The system LT Technologies is building for Vulcan is called the Total Compliance & Recycle (TCR) system. This innovative systemization utilizes microfiltration for suspended metal bearing solids removal and conditioning of the water prior to feeding a Reverse Osmosis System.

"There are significant challenges with waste water RO,” says Stephen Benjamin, V.P. of Engineering at LT Technologies. “The science of comprehensive process evaluation and complete characterization of the client’s stream is paramount to the technologies’ success. Microporous membranes are very susceptible to organic foulants. LT Technologies needs to do its homework before embarking on a project of this importance with a client. But with our past experience and successes with similar applications of this technology, we’re confident about the success of this project.”

Steve goes on to describe how a bottleneck like this in the discharge and recycle can be a major concern for this industry sector. “They need these processes to be both highly dependable and effectively.  They don’t have the time to stop the process when they feel like it. So they need a system that is built to a robust design parameter that can put them in place to succeed in a variable waste environment. We’re happy to have the opportunity to work with a company that is not under a mandate to recycle water but takes that initiative nonetheless because they see the short- and long-term value of doing so. It really is a privilege to work with companies like Vulcan that make the environment part of their vision.”
